About Tim

Hi! I’m Tim Pegg and I’m running for Westminster City Council.

I’m running to help Westminster be a fun city full of opportunity which is welcoming to people and families at all stages of life.

I grew up in a place that looks a lot like Westminster. Policies there have dramatically raised the cost of housing and made rush hour traffic much worse. I would like to help avoid those choices in Westminster, and help make it easier to build housing.

We can address the housing and traffic crises, protect taxpayers, ensure sustainability and make Westminster an even better place to live.

Exploring

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors; hiking, skiing, climbing, and cycling. You will find me biking to the gym, disc golf courses, or in pursuit of the best restaurant in Westminster. I volunteer with Solid State Depot, a creative maker space which provides a variety of industrial tools and the training to use them. I served on the board of directors for two years, as well the treasurer for four years. In addition, I regularly taught free classes, and helped the organization adapt to change, welcome new members, and find innovative business solutions.

Engineering for the Future

As an engineer, I first take time to understand my clients’ goals. I help them understand all the tradeoffs in the design process. Then I guide them to ensure they get the most out of a product with their goals in mind. This requires balancing short term and long term needs, as well as practical limits. I will bring this focused problem solving approach to city council.

Life In Westminster

My partner, Kate, and I moved to Westminster to live in a town that allowed each of us to optimize our commutes to work - by bus and by bike. We are continually impressed with the open space, extensive trail system and the wildlife we see there.
